Remote Marketing Salaries in 2026: What Remote Marketing Jobs Actually Pay
Most salary guides give you an average from surveys. This one uses the advertised pay in real job ads. We looked at 189 remote marketing jobs listed on GetRemoteMarketingJobs between 5 October and 4 November 2026. 111 of them (59%) gave a salary, and 90 gave a yearly salary in US dollars. Those 90 ads are the basis for the numbers below.
A few things to keep in mind before you read the numbers:
- These are advertised ranges, not what people were actually paid. A "$130,000$160,000" ad tells you the company's budget, not your offer.
- To get one number per job, we used the midpoint of each range. "$130k$160k" counts as $145k.
- Nearly all USD ads (84 of 90) were limited to applicants in the USA, or the USA and Canada. So read these as US remote salaries.
- Some role groups are small. We give the sample size (n) for every number, so you can judge how much to trust it.
The headline numbers
Across all 90 yearly USD ads:
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Median salary (range midpoint) | $160,000 |
| Middle 50% of jobs (25th75th percentile) | $120,000 $204,625 |
| Median bottom of the range | $137,500 |
| Median top of the range | $176,750 |
That median is high, and there's a clear reason. Remote marketing jobs that publish pay lean senior. In the full set of 189 jobs, 101 titles include "Manager," 44 include "Senior" and 28 include "Director." Only 3 include "Coordinator" and 5 include "Associate." Remote hiring is mostly for experienced people, and the salary data shows it.
Other job boards that published remote marketing salary data in November 2026 report similar numbers. DonutApply reports a median top of range of $160,000 across 4,493 remote US marketing postings. Psst reports a $135K median midpoint for remote marketing and content jobs. They use different samples and methods, but they land in the same range.
Remote marketing salaries by role
We grouped job titles into role families by keyword. Here is the median range midpoint for each group, using only yearly USD ads:
| Role family | n (ads) | Median salary | Middle 50% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Director / VP / Head of | 25 | $225,000 | $171,250 $247,400 |
| Product marketing | 18 | $184,000 | $163,750 $214,200 |
| Content / copywriting | 4 | $157,250 | small sample |
| General marketing manager & other | 14 | $148,175 | $109,125 $174,372 |
| Growth | 5 | $132,500 | small sample |
| Paid media / performance | 3 | $132,050 | small sample |
| Demand gen / field / events | 13 | $124,311 | $97,750 $134,000 |
| SEO / search | 6 | $98,750 | $80,125 $127,500 |
Email/lifecycle and social/community roles had only one salaried USD ad each, so we left them out of the table. One ad isn't a benchmark.
Leadership roles: $225,000 median
Director, VP and Head of Marketing roles are the best paid. They're also the group most often hiring remotely with a published salary (25 ads). Individual ranges went from $92,000 at the bottom to one very high outlier at the top. The middle half sits between about $171k and $247k. Expect these roles to ask for team management and full ownership of a budget or revenue target.
Product marketing: $184,000 median
Product marketing was the strongest non-leadership group. 28 of the 189 jobs were product marketing roles, and 18 published USD pay. These roles sit between product, sales and marketing: positioning, launches, sales enablement, competitive research. Many come from B2B SaaS, fintech and crypto companies. Those industries pay well and are comfortable with remote teams.
Demand generation and field marketing: $124,311 median
Demand gen, ABM, field and event roles made up 27 of the 189 listings. That makes them one of the most common types of remote marketing job. Pay is lower than product marketing, but there are many of these jobs. They're often a good next step for someone with 25 years of B2B experience. SEO and search: $98,750 median
SEO and search roles had a lower median ($98,750, n=6). Two things pull it down: several agency roles, and paid-search manager titles at the $74k$90k level. In-house organic SEO roles at product companies paid more, with ranges up to $178,500. For a full breakdown, read our guide to remote SEO jobs.
Seniority matters more than channel
Job titles say a lot about seniority, so we split by that too:
| Title contains | n | Median salary |
|---|---|---|
| Senior, Sr, Lead or Principal | 31 | $165,000 |
| Coordinator, Associate, Junior, Assistant, Intern or Specialist | 11 | $96,000 |
Going from specialist/coordinator to senior/lead is worth roughly $69,000 at the median in this data. That's a bigger gap than the gap between most channels. If you want to earn more remotely, building toward a senior title usually pays off more than switching channels.
Pay outside the US
Of the 111 ads with any salary, 90 were in USD. The rest were 9 in CAD, 7 in EUR, 1 in GBP and 1 in SEK. Hourly and monthly schedules made up 4 ads. That isn't enough data for reliable medians by country, so we won't invent them. Two patterns stood out in the ads:
- European employers posting in EUR often listed lower ranges than US employers did for similar titles. For example, a senior technical SEO role in Spain listed 45,00056,000.
- Many US companies say outright that the published range applies only to US-based candidates. Pay for other countries is "determined based on location." Always ask early.
How to use this data in your job search
- Anchor on the midpoint, negotiate toward the top. If an ad says $120k$150k, the company has planned for $150k. Bring proof of impact to justify it.
- Check the location line before the salary. In this data, 90 of 189 jobs were open to the USA only. A high salary doesn't help if you can't apply from where you live.
- Count total compensation. Several ads in this sample said the range was "not including bonus, equity or other benefits," while others included on-target earnings. Two "$200k" jobs can be very different offers.
- Prefer ads with salaries. 59% of the listings here gave a salary. Those employers are usually easier to negotiate with because the budget is already public.
- Get alerts for your role family. Well-paid remote roles fill quickly. Set up a free job alert and you'll get new matches by email.
Methodology
- Source: 189 remote marketing job listings on GetRemoteMarketingJobs, dated 5 October 4 November 2026.
- Salary sample: 111 listings with a salary; 90 with a yearly USD range (used for all USD figures).
- Metric: Midpoint of each advertised range. Medians and quartiles were calculated across listings.
- Role families: Assigned by keywords in the job title (e.g. "director," "VP," "head of" → leadership; "product marketing" → product marketing). A title is counted in the first family it matches.
- Limitations: Small groups (n < 10) are shown for direction only. Advertised ranges are not actual offers. The sample covers one month on one job board.
We plan to update this analysis as more jobs are posted.
FAQ
What is the average salary for a remote marketing job in 2026?

Which remote marketing jobs pay the most?
Director, VP and Head of Marketing roles had the highest median ($225,000, n=25), followed by product marketing ($184,000, n=18).
Do remote marketing jobs pay less than office jobs?
Our data doesn't compare remote and office jobs, so we can't say. What it does show is that remote US marketing roles that publish salaries often list six-figure ranges, especially at manager level and above.
How much do remote entry-level marketing jobs pay?
Titles with Coordinator, Associate, Junior, Assistant, Intern or Specialist had a median of $96,000 (n=11). That group includes some experienced specialists, though. True entry-level roles are rare and often pay less. See How to Get a Remote Marketing Job With No Experience.
Do remote companies pay the same salary wherever you live?
Usually not. Many ads in this sample said their published range applied only to US-based candidates, with other locations paid differently.
